Tuesday, July 3, 2012
Frank Miles, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts VP, Secretary & General Counsel, has been named the Outstanding Advisory Committee Member by the PA Association for Career and Technical Education. The honor comes as a result of his unwavering commitment and service to the Milton Hershey School community.
Miles serves as the Chairperson of the Law, Public Safety & Security Advisory Committee in the Career Technical Education (CTE) Department. He has worked over the years to establish internships, cooperative education workstations, part-time work opportunities, and job shadow days for MHS students.
"Based on my 41-years of experience in the Career and Technical Education field, I regard Mr. Miles as a uniquely talented servant leader whose enthusiasm and support have proven to be positive forces in the lives of MHS students and staff," Robert Kemmery, Milton Hershey School's Director of Career Technical Education and Transition Services, said in his nomination letter.
Miles provides an internship each year to an MHS Law, Public Safety & Security student, whom he personally mentors. He has also provided leadership and assistance to the Business Education and Culinary Arts programs and will serve as a visiting instructor during the 2012-13 school year.
Taking time from his busy corporate schedule, Miles has visited model Law, Public Safety & Security programs in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He also works to maintain valuable partnerships between the School and other entities such as The Hershey Company, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Pennsylvania State Police, Derry Township, and Harrisburg Area Community College.
Miles will now compete against other Region 1 winners. Region 1 is comprised of 15 states from Maine to Maryland and spanning into the Midwest.
