Flu Update - June 17
MHS students have been dismissed early for summer break. This action was taken after consulting with public health officials and is intended to prevent the spread of the flu among our students.
Wednesday, June 17, we received word from the state Department of Health that five of the seven cases of Type A flu sent on for further testing are positive for the H1N1 virus. Testing on the other two cases is not yet completed.
Because we took precautionary measures as soon as we recognized that significant numbers of our students were getting sick, no additional measures are required as a result of this confirmation.
All programming, including classes, have been canceled for the week of June 15. At this time, we expect to resume YRE programming June 29. Students who are participating in that programming can return to campus June 28.
