Milton Hershey School is a safe place for children because we work tirelessly to ensure the highest level of safety and security for the children in our care. We have many safeguards in place, and we continually review our procedures and add to them or improve them where necessary.
Because every child's safety is so important to us, early last year we engaged an internationally-recognized expert to conduct an exhaustive review of the procedures Milton Hershey School has in place to protect our students. Dr. Monica Applewhite completed her review this spring. She concluded that Milton Hershey School would be ranked in the top 1 percent of schools and youth development organizations "with respect to its student safety and abuse prevention practices." She also determined that we set the standard for best practices in student safety by meeting and exceeding 116 out of 118 standards of care in this area.
We continue to dedicate ourselves every day to making Milton Hershey School the safest, most nurturing environment we can provide for children.
