The former middle school, the Copenhaver Center is a hub of activity as the new student center. It is named in honor of the School's first superintendent, George Copenhaver, and his wife Prudence, who assisted Catherine Hershey in nurturing and educating students in the School's early years. The center opened in October 2000.

Copenhaver Center includes dental and medical suites, psychological services, and social work offices; a snack bar, dance hall, game room, and student lounge; Family & Consumer Science classrooms; two drama theaters, television and radio studios, and vocal and instrumental instruction areas. Copenhaver Center also houses offices of senior directors of Applied & Integrated Learning, Student Health Services, and Student Character & Leadership; College & Career Services; and Information Technologies.
